What an EICR is for
An EICR records the condition of the fixed electrical installation at the time of inspection. It identifies observations and any limitations to the inspection. It is different from a certificate issued for new installation work.
Agree the scope and access
Tell us the property type, reason for the report and whether previous records are available. Inspection and testing can require access to rooms, the distribution board and circuits, with interruptions to power. Access limitations should be discussed before the visit.

The report reflects what the inspection and tests find; a satisfactory outcome cannot be promised in advance. We will explain observations and discuss any further investigation or remedial work separately from the original inspection.
